Harry the Heron

For a few years now, this heron is attracted to my garden pond. I call him Harry, he usually visits early in the morning .  Yesterday, I heard his harsh high pitched sound, out I went with my camera, and right enough, there he was, walking along the roof .
Harry looking happy and content and getting ready to settle down.
I wondered if he was just nodding off or hanging his head in shame after eating all my goldfish, again.

  1. Great shots - I do love pictures of herons - sorry he is eating your goldfish - but they are so sparkly and delicious.

  2. There seems to be something wrong with this blog post, The first two pics are on top of each other and I cannot read your text. Or is it my computer?

    1. It looks o.k. to me, but I'm not sure how others see it.

  3. He's so handsome - I'd be happy to fill my pond with goldfish on a regular basis just to see Harry each day! they are one of my favourite birds.
Thanks so much for stopping by my blog - it's very much appreciated - hope you have a great week.

  4. Keep buying new fishes :-) Harry the Heron is quite a handsome guy!

  5. great series... LOVE your commentary!

  6. Ha! Great post. Hope Harry stops eating your fish! Happy Skywatching!

  7. These are such wonderful photos of such a beautiful critter! (But naughty Harry for eating Ann's goldfish friends! He does look contrite in that last photo, though). :-)

Herons are no small bird, I'm surprised you can't hear him clomping around up there over your head! Looks like you've got a very stout roof, though. I wonder if he was calling for you to come out and take his photo! He looks like he probably enjoyed being the center of your attention.

Thanks for sharing your delightful photos of Harry!

  8. Beautiful bird. Love your shots.

  9. So fun to see Harry! :) and NOW I just realized who you are :)) You're back again, that's great! :)
